Indie Mountain West Games Fest

About the project

Indie Mountain West is a new independent video games festival helping indie developers, hobbyists, and students showcase their work, build community, and connect across the Intermountain West region. Indie Mountain West partnered with Craft Lake City’s DIY Fest and the University of Utah Division of Games to create a juried competition culminating in an in-person Indie Arcade and a formal awards festival at the Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City, UT.

• Community collaboration with Craft Lake City, SLUG Magazine (alternative culture publication), University of Utah Division of Games, Google Fiber (sponsor), Make Salt Lake (local makers space), and dozens of games community members and experts serving as jury members.
• 36 applicants across six Intermountain states; over 1,400 in-person arcade attendees.
• $1,200 in prizes and financial support to indies, including travel support for finalists attending from outside Utah.
